4 Weddings and ......

.. a farewell party of note! Yep our trip to South Africa for all of September was amazing as always. We went to 3 weddings and then our own of course and each one was fantastic - was great to see all our friends and family and a good time was had by all. A quick congrats to Nick and Sharon Webb, Cyril and Cathy Sauer and Shaun and Lara Leisegang who all got hitched in September! As for our wedding, without doubt one of the best days of our lives, we had an absolute blast and were so happy to have so many of our friends and family in the same room. The hangover was another story but hey what a night!

Apart from the weddings we also managed to head up to Blyde River Canyon, Durban and Port Edward in Kwazulu Natal (and a flutter at the Wild Coast casino), Sun City, Plumari game reserve in the Magaliesberg, Cape Town and Stellenbosch - plenty of Joburg in between. Also managed to show some of our English friends around some of the country & they loved it, gotta do our bit for SA tourism.

Then on Tuesday night we flew back to London for 1 night before heading on our travels and what a night it was. All our London friends were out for Leise's 30th and a farewell party at the Peacock bar in Clapham which carried on until the early hours - we managed to drink them out of most of their beers, wine, tequila, sambucca etc etc - not sure that's a good thing ;-) Anyway was a great night & we are gonna miss everyone but our 5 month adventure has now arrived and despite being a bit tired we are excited as hell about it. So after that heavy night out my darling sister and Candace made us a stunning breakfast to cure the hangover, and Mani and Lorna kindly drove us to the airport - although I managed to get us lost on the way to terminal 5 but was just trying to liven up the morning

And at 2pm on Thursday we flew to Rio, arriving at 9.30pm local time last night. On arriving at our stunning apartment right on the beach we sunk a few beers and had a good sleep and are now ready to head out. Rio is bidding for the 2016 Olympics and the decision is made this afternoon so it's carnival atmosphere out there so what perfect timing to be here - come on RIO! Anyway we are off to explore, but will give a full rundown and pictures of Rio after the weekend, but so far looking amazing & just thought we would add a pic of the view from our aparmtment window.....
